Item Details
Description
A portrait of Joshua Reynolds' sister Elizabeth Johnson, after the original by Reynolds. Later mounted to board, unsigned. This painting was included in the May 4th, 1922 Baroness Burdett-Coutts Collection of Pictures and Drawings auction, held by Christie, Manson and Woods. The original catalog of the sale is included in this lot and the work is pictured (plate 64) and described on page 21.

Dimensions:30" x 25", the frame 37" x 32".

Provenance:From a local collection.
Condition
As mentioned, the canvas has been laid down in board, black light reveals minor touch-up at the lower edge, none to the figure. The frame has significant losses. The catalog is in poor condition but appears to contain all pages.
