TOWLE "OLD MASTER" STERLING SILVER 92-PIECE FLATWARE SERVICE, pattern designed by Harold E. Nock in 1942; solid sterling pieces comprising 12 place forks, 12 salad forks, four cream soup spoons, 14 teaspoons, 11 iced tea spoons, four cocktail forks, four demitasse spoons, a baby fork and spoon set, an infant feeding spoon, a serving/tablespoon, a pierced serving/tablespoon, a meat fork, a cream ladle, a sugar spoon, a lemon fork, a pickle/olive fork, and a bon bon spoon; pieces with sterling hollow handles and stainless blades consisting of 12 place knives, five butter spreaders, a master butter knife, a pie/cake server, and a cake knife. Each with "STERLING" and maker's marks. Total weight excluding 20 hollow-handled pieces: 80.295 ozt. Together with a wooden flatware case having red felt interior lining and a miniature spoon brooch in the same pattern. 94 pieces total. Towle Silversmiths, Newburyport, MA. 20th century. Cake knife 16" L.
Most in very good to excellent overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and other imperfections including nicks, minute denting to hollow handles; infant feeding spoon, baby spoon, and one teaspoon with significant damaged to bowls; flatware case with surface wear and scratches, lacking hinges and currently in two pieces.
