Rectangular, by Edward Smith, Birmingham, various sizes, comprising: an example with wave pattern, pierced scrolling foliate and starburst grille, 1843, monogrammed; an example with scalloped edges and scrolling foliate decoration to the exterior and grille, 1844, monogrammed; an example with scalloped edges, criss-cross pattern with acanthus, pierced scrolling foliate decoration and floral grille, monogrammed, illegible date mark.
Dimensions: From 1 1/2" x 1" x 1/4" to 1 1/2" x 1 1/16" x 3/8". Total approximate weight is 1.9 troy ounces.

Condition
The 1843 example both has significantly rubbed exterior surface and also has several dings and scratches. The 1843 and 1844 examples also have lost much of the interior gilding. Otherwise, good with expected wear.
