Description
GERMAN / CONTINENTAL CUT GLASS AND SILVER WINE EWERS WITH STANDS, PAIR, each glass ewer having cut designs, silver, possibly silver-plated, hinged lid and spout attached to the handle and relief grapevine mountings around the body, matching stand with applied vine border to rim. Each stand with impressed marks of "KB", "12 Loth" for .750 silver fineness, and "2494" to base. Total weight of stands: 12.825 ozt. Second half 19th century. Jugs 11 5/8" HOA; stands 7 1/2" DOA rims.
Very good overall condition with some wear and surface scratches from use, tarnishing to silver.
Provenance: From the estate of Commander Buryl and Nelwyn Kay, McLean, VA.
