Description
[Prints] Hogarth, William (British, 1697 - 1764). Copper plate engravings and etchings on wove paper. (1) "Strolling Actresses Dressing in a Barn." 1738. At lower left: "By a Company of Comedians from The Theatres at London at the GEORGE INN This Present Evening will be Presented THE DEVIL to Pay in HEAVEN Being the last time of Acting Before Ye Act Commences." Image: 16 7/8" x 21 1/8". Framed: 20" x 24". (2) "O The Roast Beef of England: The Gate of Calais." ca. 1749-80. Image: 13 1/2" x 17 5/8". Framed: 18 1/4" x 21 1/4"._x000D_
Condition Very good. (1) Uniformly toned with discoloration to lower left margin. (2) Scattered toning with three small pinholes to upper image. Closed tears to margins.
