Description
Luca Cambiaso (ITALIAN, 1527 - 1585) Moneglia, Genoese school pen and ink wash on paper titled "Study Page of Heads". Mounted in gold painted wooden frame with matting behind glass screen. Work measures approx. 9 1/2" height x 9 1/2" width (24cm x 24cm) to sight. Measures approx. 19 1/4" height x 17 1/2" width (48.9cm x 44.5cm) overall including frame. Provenance: from the estate of Mr. Jerome S. Reinert. Mr. Reinert is renowned for surviving and bravely saving 12 children in the infamous S. S. Adrea Doria ship crash off of the coast of Nantucket, MA. Mr. Reinert is honored yearly for his bravery along with a long list ofaccomplishments; a copy of his resume can be provided. Acquired by Mr. Reinert circa 1968 from Herman Shickman Gallery, New York; a copy of the original receipt will be provided.
