Item Details
Description
(1929 - 1994) First Lady and wife of John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States. 1962 White House Christmas card, 7" x 6", signed by Mrs. Kennedy in her hand and bearing a proxy signature of her husband, the president. The card bears an embossed presidential seal above the greeting. The photographic cover of the card has been matted with the signed portion; it is a Cecil Stoughton image of the Kennedy children in a horse-drawn sled on the White House lawn in February, 1962. Also matted with a photograph of the president and First Lady standing beside the White House Christmas tree, with descriptive plaque, matted in black and white and set into a black wood frame. Fine. This card would of course be the last Christmas card the couple would send, this particular example sent to Texas Congressman George Mahon.
