Description
Five piece English Sterling Silver Tea and Coffee Service Adie Brothers, Birmingham. Elegant pattern in the style of George III. Pineapple finales, foliage and flower swags. Good condition, no monograms. . Adie Brothers, Ltd., Birmingham, England was incorporated in 1906 joining the firms of McKewan & Adie (manufacturing jewellers, gold and silversmiths) and E.S. Barnsley & Co (box and packing case makers). The firm was controlled by Percy Adie until WWII and afterwards by Tony Adie and Frank Taylor. In the 1960s the firm became part of British Silverware and closed in 1968. Measurements: Teapot 10" tall; coffee 7.50" tall; other 3@ 3.50" tall. Weight approx. 2935 grams. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate
