Description

Details: Original c.1872 hand-colored Currier and Ives published lithograph.

Depicts, "The Great Fire At Boston. November 9th,1872."

Caption reads, "The Fire began on Saturday evening, and raged for 15 hours; destroying over Sixty Acres of Buildings, among which were whole blocks of the finest Granite Stores on the continent, and property estimated at nearly $100,000,000."

Measures 14" wide by 11" high. Unmounted.



Condition / Notes: This lithograph shows nicely, with moderate to significant wear, including moderate edge and repaired center tears, fading, creasing, and toning. Verso shows adhesive tape repairs and patches.
