Negoro / Alfred, N.Y." on the base of both. Together with one celadon and oxblood red glazed dish with the initials of Winslow Anderson. The design of the bowl is similar to Negoro's work and may have been made by Anderson under Negoro's instruction at Alfred University. Three pieces total. Minnie Negoro made at New York State College of Ceramics, Alfred, New York. Circa 1945. 4 3/4" to 5 1/2" D.

Catalogue Note: Minnie Negoro received her Bachelor's in Art from the University of California in Los Angeles in 1944 before she and her family were sent to a Japanese internment camp in Wyoming because of their Japanese ancestry.
