Description
THOMAS WEBB CAMEO GLASS VASE, white to canary yellow, large baluster form with an elongated neck, elaborate floral design with three flying bees on the reverse, foliate band to the mouth extending toward the neck, floral band on the base, polished pontil mark and base, signed, "THOMAS WEBB & SONS/CAMEO/GEM". Thomas Webb & Sons. Circa 1890. 14 1/4" H, 2 1/8" D rim, 3 7/8" D base.
Undamaged with a few scattered minute scuffs to the exterior.
Literature: Parallels the Grovers - English Cameo Glass, p. 132, fig. C114.
Provenance: From a Tennessee private collection.
Purchased from Skinner Inc., 12/8/07, lot 138.
