Item Details

Description

STAMPED NEW YORK DECORATED STONEWARE JUGS, LOT OF TWO, salt-glazed, comprising a one-gallon "J (star) CLARK & CO / TROY" jug and a "2" gallon "W. HART & CO., / OGDENSBURGH." jug. Each with cobalt decoration. Together with a brown-glazed earthenware jar stamped "W. SMITH / GREENWICH / NEW YORK" within an oval. Three pieces total. 1824-1870. 8" to 14" H.
Undamaged except for a few minute flakes to rim of jar, large jug with some pops to cobalt, small jug with stone pop.

Provenance: From a Williamsburg, VA private collection.
