Description

CURRIER AND IVES NEW YORK STATE LANDSCAPE PRINT, hand-colored lithograph on paper, large folio, titled "Sunny Side / The Residence of the Late Washington Irving, Near Tarrytown, N. Y.", housed in a period, possibly original, molded-wood frame with gilt sight edge. Together with another New York State view, medium folio, titled "Niagara Falls / From Goat Island", housed under glass in a period, possibly original, molded-wood frame with gilt sight edge. Two pieces total. Circa 1865-1890. "Sunny Side" 15" x 20 1/4" image, 22" x 26" OA.

Provenance: From the collection of Edward W. Hook, Charlottesville, VA.

Condition

Both with vertical stain lines from acidic wood backing boards, overall toning, and foxing. Niagara view with tear to right edge. Wear to frames. Not examined out of frames.
