Description
PER LYSNE (NORWEGIAN-AMERICAN 1880-1947), A WOOD Charger WITH ROSEMALING, CIRCA 1935. In the Os and Hallingdal styles, with polychrome florals on a cream colored ground with inscribed Norwegian phrase on rim "Smorgaasbordet er nu dakket-Dar san god!" (The smorgasbord is on the table, help yourself!) signed on verso "Lysne." Diameter 16.25 inches (41.2 cm). Together with a similarly decorated later period charger and a contemporary rosemaled low bowl.
