E. Mathey 14 Karat Yellow Gold Hunter Case Repeater Pocket Watch

E Mathey Tissot 14k solid gold repeater pocket watch. Case number 26712. Arabic numerals with secondary dial at six o'clock. White porcelain face in excellent condition. Ornate hands. Owner was Solomon S Curry born in 1840, His house is listed in the State Register of Historic Sites for the state of Michigan. He was an elected State Representative in 1874 for the State of Michigan. In 1896 he ran for Lieutenant Governor, but lost. Curry was very instrumental in the early development in the industrial, financial and political life of the Upper Peninsula-Michigan. He opened the Curry Mine, Gogebic County Mine and the Metropolitan Iron and Land Company that was the world's greatest producer of ore.
