Cole (American 1852-1931) is a listed engraver who was New York based; he exhibited at PAFA, The Columbian Expo, Chicago, and the Paris Salon. His engravings after European masterworks in oil are among his best and best known work. They came after he went to Europe following a fire which destroyed most of his belongings.
