Description
Antique Thomas Miller reposse silver pocket watch #9971 circa 1768. Also includes fine antique keys. From the Appraisal: handmade in 1763 by Thomas Miller of London. Watch is no. 1 of 10 watches made. Five were gold and five were silver. Reposse case, gold crown wheel, escapement fussee movement.. The watch key is original and made the watch, Inside the watch case, the cloth is hand stitched English animal fur dyed with plant pigment. Carbon dated in 1994 by the Oakland Museum Result: 1750-1755. Also a hand made Hound key made of gold and iron; ratchet pivot circa 1685-1720. The case depicts a Hercules presenting the golden fleece to the Queen of the Amazons. Appraisal by William J. Fitzgerald
