UTAGAWA KUNISADA I (TOYOKUNI III) (JAPANESE, 1786-1864) WOODBLOCK PRINT, featuring a warrior/actor gripping onto a boulder in the sea, waves in the foreground, artist's signature seal along right edge corner, print cut down, probably cropped from a larger scene. Housed under glass in a modern frame. Mid 19th century. 9 1/8" x 13 3/4" object, 14" x 18 1/2" OA.
Provenance: From a Virginia private collection.
Condition
Very good overall condition with light toning, edges cut down, possibly laid on mat, frame with minor wear. Not examined out of frame.
