A 19th century American tall clock by Riley Whiting, Winchester, Conn (1807-1819). 30-hour weight driven time and strike wooden movement with a painted wood dial and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds and date dials marked "R. Whiting, Winchester". Pine case with a broken arch top above a shaped dial door over a waist area with simple rectangular door and base with cut out skirt. Original Brown painted finish with pin striped detail. Some surface wear and minor paint loss, replaced weights, running momentarily when cataloged, needs a lighter weight seconds hand. 87" high. ESTIMATE $1,000-1,500
