Col. Tom Parker's Vacheron Watch From Aberbach Brothers
Item Details
Description
Col. Tom Parker's Vacheron Constantin Watch From Elvis Music Publishers Julian and Jean Aberbach W/Letter From Priscilla Presley - This Vacheron Constantin wristwatch was gifted to Colonel Tom Parker from Hall of Fame music publishers Julian and Jean Aberbach. The watch has a 37mm 14k yellow gold case engraved "With love from Julian and Jean" on the back, fitted with a 10k gold filled stainless steel stretch bracelet. This watch is an incredible piece of rock and roll history that marks the start of Elvis Presley's massive career. Julian and Jean Aberbach were the founders of Hill and Range music publishing house, and assisted Colonel Parker in becoming Elvis' manager upon meeting the up and coming star in 1955. The Aberbachs were instrumental in Elvis' transition from SUN Records to RCA Records, orchestrating a buyout of his contract that secured payments not only from RCA Victor but also from Hill and Range as they guaranteed Elvis half of the publishers' share of income from any Hill and Range songs he recorded. Elvis' songs sold millions of copies, and his relationship with the Aberbachs allowed them to have their pick from songs written by the best writers of the era such as Otis Blackwell, Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller. The Aberbachs secured the publishing rights for many of Elvis' biggest hits such as Hound Dog, Dont Be Cruel, All Shook Up, Love Me, and Suspicious Minds. This piece was acquired from the Lost Jewelry Collection of Elvis Presley and Col. Tom Parker, which was thought to have been lost for decades. This item, as with the entire Lost Jewelry Collection, has never been offered at auction. The piece will come with a letter from Ms. Priscilla Presley who has served as an expert consultant on this collection. Measurements: 7.5" inside circumference. Please note: The auction house has a financial interest in this lot. Announcements, descriptions, and disclosures can change up until the time the bidding ends on the item.
