Description
Late Bronze Age, Ca.1550-1200 BC A finely modelled ancient Canaanite chocolate over cream slip ware jug; with a bulbous-shaped ovoid body and cylindrical neck. One applied handle extends from the neck to the shoulder. The body painted with three linear parallel lines and decorated with triangular patterns rendered in brown pigment. For similar see: Amiran, R. Ancient Pottery of the Holy Lands, page 158. Size: L:150mm / W:130mm ; 405g Provenance: Property of a London gallery; formerly in High Wycombe Estate collection; formerly acquired on the UK Art market.
