Eaton Hall (Waterhouse), Chester, Cheshire County England, about 1867–1868,
8" x 11" Albumen silver print.
The photograph c.1880s with the East garden front of Waterhouse's Eaton Hall. The main block is on the left and the family wing is at the far right with the clock tower in the background.
title and artists name printed at the lower margin center.
Francis Bedford, a photographer, known for topographic and architectural views of Britain. In 1857, Bedford became a member of the Photographic Society. In 1862, accompanied the Prince of Wales (future king Edward VII), as official photographer on a Middle East tour. During the 1860s and 1870s travelled to photograph British scenery, assisted by son William (1846-1893).
