Description
1844 Surgery Medicine Illustrated System of Human Anatomy by Erasmus Wilson
Erasmus Wilson, a renowned English surgeon, became well-known for his studies on skin health and prevention and treatment of skin diseases. However, his popularity arose out of his desire to help the poor and underprivileged. One of his most interesting, and seemingly bizarre, practices was prescribing his wealthy and rich patients to give up luxuries as a means of a cure. His most famous textbook, A System of Human Anatomy was a teaching book used in both hospitals and medical schools and featured detailed, in-text illustrations of human anatomy.
This 1844 edition was edited by Paul Goddard and includes 205 detailed illustrations.
