Description
A LARGE SWATOW ENAMELED PORCELAIN 'SPLIT PAGODA' DISH, LATE MING
China, late Ming dynasty (1368-1644). Painted in turquoise, black, and red enamels with a central 'Split Pagoda' pattern scene, the cavetto with four landscape vignettes alternating with stylized seals.
Condition: Good condition with minor wear and firing irregularities, some minor flaking to the enamels.
Provenance: Holzapfel collection, Geneva, Switzerland. This lot was acquired by second generation members of the Holzapfel family after 1970 and has remained in the family ever since.
Weight: 2,195 g
Dimensions: Diameter 38.4 cm
