Beginning in the 1740's, Capo-Di-Monte became a household name for porcelain products as they began production in Naples, Italy by special request of King Charles III of Bourbon. He wanted a royal porcelain studio on the grounds of the palace and it was called Reggia di Capodimonte. This in particular represents an English couple spending time with one another. A Victorian-style lampshade covers the ceramics. The underside of the ceramic has the Capo-di-Monte makers mark and puts the date range to late 20th to early 21st century (modern day production).
