Betsey F. Chase (American, born 1811), needlework sampler using silk thread on linen, featuring the alphabet, numbers one through twenty, florals, tree trunks and birds, "Betsey F Chase Hopkinton. Wrought this Sampler in the 11 year of her age 1822" is inscribed in the bottom center of the piece, 17 3/8" x 18" sight, 19 1/4" x 20 1/8" framed. Provenance: Descent within a New Hampshire family, last owned by Mrs. Carl E. Farnham.
Condition
Minor stains and fading, frame with losses.
