Description
Antique Set of Two Art Nouveau porcelain ramekins with saucers, Haviland, Limoges, late 1880s-early 1890s, green porcelain mark 'H' [in use 1888-1896] and red decorator mark 'c' [in use 1889-1931]; Schleiger Pattern# 86- chrysanthemums and other garden flowers in pale pink, grayish lavender and yellow. A double gold trim and scalloped blank.
The ramekins are 1.1/4" deep and c.3.1/4" across [3.2cm x 8.2cm]; the saucers are c.5.1/8" [13cm] across. All four items in this set are in very good / fine condition with no cracks or chips or crazing or wear to the gold trim.
Ramekins are commonly used for preparing and serving individual portions of a variety of dishes, including creme brulee, French onion soup, molten chocolate cake, moin moin, cheese or egg dishes, poi, macaroni and cheese, lasagna, potted shrimps, ice cream, souffle, baked cocottes, crumbles, chakra pongal, or scallops, or used to serve side garnishes and condiments alongside an entree. They can be also used to serve caviar or julien.
