Description
Antique German veteran's beer stein, porcelain with pewter lid, 11.5 in. tall overall, nicely decorated, main image of Imperial crowns on a shield, flanked by the Imperial flag and a Regimental standard, with rifles and backpacks, secondary images of men on the firing line in battle, with a second image of soldiers relaxing about a campfire. Named to 'Gren. Leicht', a member of the 'Lieb Gren. Leicht. Reg. 109 Karlsruhe' as indicated by commemorative scroll rendering at bottom of main image. The pewter lid depicts a standing German soldier with rifle, wearing an artillery pickelhaube. Lid is missing thumblift with edge that has been refinished, lid strap is also a bit loose, one chip at base under handle, else very good.
