Ancient Greece was a delicacy that only certain wealthy classes could afford.
Fishes such as sea bass, tuna or conger eel were almost a delicacy, so we must think that this type of ceramic dishes, aimed precisely at containing fish, were used by wealthy families during the festivities or banquets that would be held by arranging the food on it. Details: Material: Terracotta; Conservation: Some chips on surface otherwise in good condition; Dimensions: 19,5 x 6 cm; Provenance: Classical Archaeology F. Cervera, Spain, 2014 / This piece is accompanied by an export certificate from the Spanish Ministry of Culture No. 2019/07112 with date 17/01/2020 and certificate of authenticity.; Documents: Termoluminiscence test (TL).; Exhibited: Feriarte, IFEMA (Madrid, 16-24 November, 2019).
For destinations out of Spanish territorry: all our object will be shipped after obtaining CERTIFICATE OF EXPORTATION by Ministry of Culture of Spain. We inform our clients that it may take between 4-8 weeks.
