Ca 1850 scrimshaw corset busk, decorated in sailor scrimshaw carving highlighted with red and black ink, with a woman with anchor representing "Hope", with ships, pinwheels, nautical scenes, with note "given to me by Blanche Corley, born in Waterbury around 1895, worn by her grandmother at her wedding, carved by her grandfather at sea on a whaling ship", overall length 14 1/4"
