2 German military beer steins, dated 1908 / 1910. One is Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment, Prinz Arnulf 3rd Company. Belonged to Josef Merk. Lithophane with the face of a mustachioed man (Kaiser Wilhelm?). Ceramic with pewter lid. Lid includes soldier with pickelhaube and the Bavarian lion. Finial on handle shows Bavarian lion with the crest of Bavaria. 11 5/8" tall by about 5 1/2" wide. Good condition, minor areas of wear, discoloration. Colors overall are bright and crisp.Second is from the 4th Company, 9th Infantry Regiment Number 170 in Offenburg. It belonged to a reservist named Geppert. Decoration shows scenes of military life in Offenburg, as well as portraits of the Kaiser and another man. Lithophane with a soldier and his sweetheart. Ceramic with pewter lid. Lid includes soldier with pickelhaube helmet. Finial on handle with a crowned griffin. Good condition, with minor wear.
