A 19th century gold pocket watch open face, key wind, 18ct gold case, full plate movement signed Vale & Rotheram 1875, round white enamel dial with Roman numerals in black, railroad outer seconds track in black, blued steel leaf hands, the caseback with decorative engraving, with full hallmarks for London 1863 (Case 45mm) Footnote: Text below taken from website of David Penney’s Antique Watch Store re: Vale & Rotherham, Coventry #7040: “Vale & Rotherham, a most important partnership that predated the Coventry based firm of Rotherham's that became one of the best and most important suppliers of machine-made watch movements in England.”
