Description
A large Chinese Export blue and white porcelain charger with unusual peacock design
probably Kangxi period

Centered by a figural roundel beneath a western inspired crown, the everted sides covered in peacocks and lotus blossoms.
diameter 16 1/2in (42cm)
Footnote:
For a similar design see Christies, New York, 22 January 2012, lot 412. A slightly different design also featuring peacocks sold Bonhams, Los Angeles, 13 October 2020, lot 51.
Condition
General marks, scratches, rubbing, wear, scattered chips, glazing and firing flaws. Old sanded down kiln grit, some roughness to edges. Not inspected under UV light. Possible further restorations.
