William Auerbach Levy (Russian/American, 1889-1964)
Torah, alternatively titled The Law, 1915. Signed "William A. Levy" in pencil l.r., signed and dated within the plate, and identified on a label from Arthur Ackermann & Son, Inc., Chicago, affixed to the backing. Etching on paper, plate size 8 x 6 in. (20.3 x 15.2 cm), framed.
Condition: Subtle toning, not examined out of frame.

Condition: Out of the frame the sheet measures 9 7/8 x 7 1/2 inches, and is laid down. It has two deckled edges. There is a repair to the right margin and into the image, and the image itself is also lightstruck. There is a Chicago Society of Etchers drystamp in the lower left corner.
