(8vo), original blindstamped purple cloth lettered in gilt.Stansbury's important exploration of the Great Salt Lake Basin and his report on the newly established Mormon settlements, as well as the routes and passes through the Rockies for emigrants and possibly a railroad. The present edition has the heading at top of the title-page, "Special Session, March 1851, Senate Executive No. 3." Lacks the 2 large folding maps that were issued in separate folder.
